Well I finally got around to borrowing a digital camera so I can show my progress on Charlotte. Here she is -
and a closer shot -
I just found a mistake I had made in her, where I had knit a portion of a row when I should have purled. I have decieded to just leave it as is. It's not terrible noticeable and I can't really bring myself to rip out 20 rows or so.
Thinks are going smoothly, but I am a bit concerned that I will not have enough yarn to finish. Actually there will probably be enough to finish, but I am not sure about the tassels. I have plenty of the first 2 colors, but I seem to be using quite a bit of the last 3. I am contemplating just buying another skein of the 5th color just for the tassels. It's my favorite and I want to be sure that it will be adequately represented in the trim.
I am still enjoying the project, but I am wishing I had chosen a colorway with a bit more of a drastic color change. At the moment the color changes in mine are barely noticeable. I love them, but it's not terribly dramatic. I guess that just means another Charlotte when this one is done. I had loved the Sand n Sea colorway that Rob had posted last week, but alas I was too late and it was off to another home. I am thinking something very Lilly Pulitzer, bright pinks and turquoise blue.
I am on hold with Anouk for the time being as I am waiting on my yarn. I placed my order with Threadbear, but they are holding my order waiting on the green to come in. (I couldn't see shipping out the rest of the yarn, when the green is the color I need to cast on and start with.) I went with a brighter orange, but I will post the colors as soon as I get them.
I made the lifeline mistake. Again. But I swear, I've repented and vowed to rip and knit until I get it right.
Or maybe the key is to keep knitting these shawls until I can knit one all the way through without a mistake. :D

Your Charlotte is beautiful, you've made so much progress with it. I'm so jealous!! I love your earlier idea for different colored stitch markers. I'm going to buy a whole bunch more this weekend so I can mark off every lace repeat. I have stitch markers but not that many and think I need that many (this coming from someone who has two lifelines threaded in.)
Thanks for the tips!!
