I had to laugh today reading Yarn Harlot's post on Prince. I immediately thought back to when I was thirteen and completely infatuated with John Taylor of Duran Duran. My best friend was infatuated with Simon LeBon so the two of us would spend hours at the mall ferreting out any magazine, book, or calendar that had a picture of them on it. Hours would be spent watching MTV just to catch one of their videos. We'd tape the videos and watch them over and over again so we could fully understand the deeper meaning of their songs. Just as for the yarn harlot it was only a matter of time before we met them one day and they were fell head over heels for us. We had the whole Duran Duran look going as well. The grey fedora (with the white band please), the bi-level hair do and those white oxford jazz shoes. How could they not resist us? Alas, our parents never let us go to their concert and my infatuation ended when someone I worked with took John Taylor's place.
In knitting news...
My fiesta tea creamer. I couldn't manage to get a clear picture, so my apologizes for the blurriness. The I-cord horizontal edging on the bottom took forever. A gap was left betweeen the ends of the edging so I used a few stitches to pull the ends together. It looks fine, and you would never be able to tell.
I finished my shopping for my KR secret pal this weekend. I just need to find a box to pack it up in. I'm going to try to get it out on Saturday. I had a lot of fun putting this one together. Now I'm starting to put together some ideas for my next package. I am having a horrible time decideing what to choose with the ebay gift certifcate I received from my KR secret pal. Who knew decieding could be so hard? I am torn between some Linen Drape I saw in a beautiful aqua color, or go with the colinette engima I've been wanting to make the Cadiz sweater. I checked for some Calmer too, but there wasn't a big selection at the moment. I'm leaning toward the enigma, but that leads to what color way? If you couldn't tell I am not the most decisive person out there.
I love your little creamer! (But I hated duran duran...)

In college, I had a roomate that was completely obssesed with Duran Duran. She knew all of their birthdays, eye colors, and so on.
I think John was her favorite too.

Ah the pressure of spending a gift certificate. I have such a hard time deciding what to use gift certificates on-- worse than spending my own money. But it's so much fun to have "free money" to shop with.
