I've been rolling right along with my knitting lately, but I'm going to doll out the picutres and updates slowly so I don't end up with just quizzes to post by the end of the week.
I finished up the back piece for the Onde tunic shortly after taking this photo. I have to admit that I love working with the fine guage yarn. I'm finding the Onde a fairly quick knit. I finished the back piece in less than a week, and that is only knitting it sporadically. I still have quite a bit of yarn left from the first ball. I can't imagine that I am going to need very much, if any, of the all white. I brought the seceond ball with me today to start the front piece, but realized when I got to work that I had grabbed one size 3 needle and one size 7. Needles to say I had to work on just the Fiesta Tea set today at lunch.
Speaking of which...
I finished my second tea cup. I did a better job of blocking this one. On the first one I pulled at the sides a little bit, and it wasn't quite even around the edge. I left a bit of a bump in the bottom of this one. I'll have to fix that up later tonight. I also used some heavy starch on all of my pieces over the weekend, as they were really feeling very soft. The starch helped quite a bit and I think is going to really help them hold their shape when they are played with. I let my niece play with them yesterday when we got back from the beach and she loved them. I'm so thrilled that they are hit with one of the recipents.
It was very difficult getting up and going to work today after spending the day at the beach yesterday. We spent most of the morning hunting for seashells, and building sandcastles. My niece was not really liking getting sand on her, and was spending most of her time washing the sand off of her using a bucket of water I had to keep filing for her. (She didn't want to get her feet wet either.) She was making my mom and I laugh as we never thought there was anyone more prissy than my mom. She was having fun though washing the sand off of her though so that's all that counts. (As well as having fun knocking down my sand castles by washing them away.)
