Ripple_baby_blanket

Ripple_baby_blanket

Began life as a shawl in red Lion Brand Microspun.

Started March 2004. Finished in February 2005.

After languishing in my work basket for nearly a year, I finally accepted the fact that I hated the yarn for this project and was never going to wear this as a shawl. The Microspun yarn splits terribly and was showing excessive amounts of wear just from handling while knitting.

I bound off a little more than half way through the shawl and gave it to my nieces to use as a doll blanket. Needless to say it found a much happier home than mine.

Clapotis_stole

Clapotis scarf from www.knitty.com Fall 2004 issue.

Knit using Mystic Creation yarns sport silk/merino (50/50) blend in the Pixie colorway. Color was not quite what I had hoped for, as it was much more fushia than the purple I wanted. The yarn however, is so soft and wonderful it made up for my issues with the color.

Pattern: Family Circle Easy Knits Tank - Summer 2004

Yarn: King Tut 100% Egyptian Cotton - peach

Needles: 4.5mm Swallow Caseins

I couldn't be happier with this project. Easy to knit, nice decorative touches, and fits perfectly. A bit more shaping through the shoulders to make them narrower might be nice, but perfect without it as well.
